Associate Director Position

The Good Food Institute (GFI) is at the forefront of the Alternative Protein movement to harness the power of food innovation and markets to solve some of the world’s biggest problems, from climate change and global hunger to antibiotic resistance and the exploitation of billions of farm animals annually.
How You Will Make a Difference: In this role, you will work closely with our managing director and other team members to support and execute initiatives and projects in all our activity areas of policy, corporate engagement, scitech and comms. You will help us expand and deepen our impact, maximize our resources and engage additional stakeholders.
The Associate Director will be responsible for:

Working with the Israel managing director to develop and maintain strategic plans, budgets, and quarterly and annual goals.

Managing the team’s internal reporting requirements such as the creation and submission of weekly and monthly reports, OKRA planning and reports, etc.

Evaluating new and current opportunities in order to ensure that all activities are focused on maximum mission impact.

Analyzing and working to improve the effectiveness of our operations and maximizing our impact.

Performing any other duties as assigned by the managing director.

Representing GFI to the general public and key stakeholders, often on the Executive Director’s behalf: drafting and proofreading letters, presentations, oral and written donor communications, and general informational materials.
The Associate Director must have:

A Masters degree in economics/business/other relevant degree.

At least four years of directly relevant experience in business, government or non-profit organizations.

Supervisory experience and a proven ability to effectively lead teams.

Experience building coalitions and working in a team environment.

Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.

Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills in both English and Hebrew.

Cross-cultural sensitivity and international perspective and experience (a plus).

Ability to work independently and use sound judgment in decision making, including setting and managing priorities and meeting competing deadlines.

Strong support for GFI’s philosophy and ability to professionally advocate for GFI’s positions. Demonstrated past interest in public health, environmentalism, animal protection, or hunger relief.
Terms of Employment: full time
Location: remote, 2-3 meetings a week in Tel Aviv or Rehovot area
